Kinetisense practitioners and trainers find great value in the ability to monetize the 3D assessments that Kinetisense provides. Whether assessing patients and clients in your facility or offering off-site assessments in the community, Kinetisense is the differentiator that will increase the bottom line. Practitioners and trainers charge anywhere from $30-$120 dollars per assessment. Our functional movement assessments are reimbursed by most insurance companies. Contact us to learn more.

The answer depends on your context. For instance, clinicians use Kinetisense in one of five basic ways: outreach, intake, improve existing assessments, add assessments, and developing new protocols. Some clinicians take advantage of Kinetisense’s portability and use modules like balance, posture, and KAMS to do off-site assessments for sports and geriatrics. Many clinicians use Kinetisense as part of the intake process. Clinicians can use modules like Range of Motion and Functional Movement to augment and improve the assessment processes they have already been using. With tools like KAMS and Workflow, clinics can draw in whole new patient groups. With the biofeedback capabilities, clinicians can offer a whole new level of treatment and exercise protocols.

However you implement Kinetisense, you can be sure that you will improve patient confidence and engagement and improve your clinic’s workflow and ROI.

Kinetisense is a cloud based system, meaning that all assessments and data are synced to the Microsoft Azure cloud. Assessments can be taken without access to the internet, however, syncing is required when the device returns to the internet in order to pull off reports and share data between devices. Our cloud based system is HIPAA compliant for all clinical use.

Kinetisense backs up your data to the cloud in the background as you work. This means that if you have a slower connection, you do not need to wait between assessments for your data to synchronize. However, we recommend using at least a broadband connection (25 mbps download and 3 mbps upload) for an optimal experience.

No, we do not sell the hardware but our team will walk you through every step of the way through the required equipment.

Have a Question?

There are two different types of workflows through the Kinetisense system. We have preset workflows such as KAMS, KAMS IL and Risk of Fall Gait. By using our pre-set workflows like KAMS and KAMS IL we are able to generate a Functional Planar Map (FPM) report, with this report we are able to identify the top three joint dysfunctions in the upper body region and top three joint dysfunctions in the lower body region.

A customized workflow can be created with any assessment within Kinetisense and built into a workflow. The workflow will automatically move from one assessment to another, saving valuable time. This also allows you to gather large trend data from similar patients as the workflow will be saved as a protocol. Customized Workflows allow users to use or create their own groups of assessments as workflows, increasing accuracy, efficiency and objectivity.

Kinetisense has an auto-update feature that checks for the newest versions of the software either through the app store on the iPad or directly through the software on a Windows computer.

  1. iPad: 6-8 feet in distance and 4 feet in width are the minimum requirements for the Kinetisense 360 license.  For the Kinetisense diamond license, 17 feet in distance is required and 4 feet in width.
  2. Desktop: 8-10 feet in distance and 4 feet in width are minimum requirements for the Kinetisense 360 license. For the Kinetisense diamond license, 17 feet in distance is required and 4 feet in width.

Our system can be operated by anyone, with our tutorial videos featured on every module as well as helpful training videos CA’s, TA’s and office assistants can conduct assessments. The practitioner can then interpret the results with the patient. If baseline assessments are conducted before every treatment,  objective trend data is captured over a long period of time.

Kinetisense is a versatile system and allows for different types of assessments that would normally require a number of different assessment tools. Kinetisense is a “toolbox” of biomechanical assessments. Kinetisense allows you to have a biomechanics lab at your fingertips and takes your assessments to the next level. Kinetisense engages your patients and clients to a deeper level and has proven to be a key piece in improving clinical and training outcomes.

Kinetisense is the world’s first patented single-sensor motion capture system that assesses human movement in all 3 planes.

Kinetisense has been validated for it’s accuracy in a number of third party university studies. Kinetisense has been compared to the 9 camera Vicon system and has similar accuracy to this research system.

Kinetisense is the assessment tool of choice for a variety of professional sports teams including the Miami Heat, Atlanta Braves, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres and more. Kinetisense is being used worldwide by a number of practitioners and trainers and used by many of the leading researchers from prominent Universities and Colleges.

Kinetisense allows you to gather objective information by using an advanced 3D movement capture technology. This takes away any human error that affects the normal ROMs, posture, balance, and other measurements taken during movement screens. Kinetisense allows you to gather accurate data quickly and also allows you to do a complete functional movement exam in 3 minutes.

In healthcare, the goal is to switch away from a pain-based model and move toward focusing on function. With Kinetisense, the real-time biofeedback allows for practitioners and trainers to not only assess movement but also train movement. The real time assessment and automated reporting are invaluable to the patient/client as they acquire confidence in the rehab and training process, data driven analytics that drive better results.

There are four industry standard modules for balance, posture, range of motion and functional movement. Our Professional version also includes the Kinetisense Advanced Movement Screen (KAMS) that allows you to do a complete tri-planar functional movement exam in around 3 minutes. The KAMS module also permits practitioners to build their own workflow, by selecting from 75 different movements. For more detailed information check here.

Functional movement assessments such as KAMS allows you to map the movement dysfunctions of the body and find the areas that require either joint stability or mobility. The system is so simple and intuitive that it can be used by you or a staff member. Do assessments in your facility or out in the community and establish yourself as the authority in functional movement.

KAMS stands for Kinetisense Advanced Movement Screen. KAMS is the most robust and efficient functional assessment tool on the market and incorporates evidence based movements that give valuable insight into human movement and compensatory movement patterns. KAMS assesses 12 movements and takes about 3 minutes to complete. During each movement, the system records all movement in three planes of motion. These include:

  • The transverse plane, meaning an overhead view of joint motion that allows visualization of motion involved with trunk rotation.
  • The sagittal plane, meaning anything moving towards the front or back of the person?s body that allows visualization of flexion and extension.
  • The coronal or frontal plane, which is related to tilt of shoulders, hips and head and allows visualization of lateral asymmetries.

KAMS is an objective movement screen that removes the issues of subjectivity and a subsequent lack of inter and intra examiner reliability that are common with visual based screens. KAMS allows you to assess functional movement thoroughly and efficiently, no longer will you have to trade objectivity for efficiency. For a more detailed explanation of our Advanced Movement Screen, check here.

The movements were based on the latest peer reviewed research The 12 assessments give valuable insight into performance, injury rehabilitation and functional fatigue. The 12 movements of KAMS apply to all walks of life, from the geriatric patient to the professional athlete. For a more detailed explanation of our Advanced Movement Screen, check here.

The system will highlight the most dysfunctional areas in the body, whether they are related to a stability or mobility issue, and in what plane of motion the issue is present. Treatment of these dysfunctions is up to the person running the exams.

FPM stands for functional planar mapping, which is a proprietary tool that maps the joints of the body for mobility or stability issues. Together, KAMS and the FPM tool provide valuable insight into functional assessment and the actionable corrective strategies that the practitioner/trainer can employ. FPM will highlight the top three dysfunctional areas in the upper body and the top three in the lower body. It also tells you what plane of motion the dysfunction is in and whether it is a stability or mobility issue. The FPM tool provides a “scorecard” of function by scoring functional movement, balance, core stability, movement asymmetry, flexibility and, susceptibility to injury.

Are you Ready to Elevate your Practice?

Kinetisense only requires an 8 x 10 foot space. The system has been designed to only assess the person closest to the sensor which allows you to do active and passive movement assessments or “cue” the patient or client as they move.

Patients can wear their own clothes as long as it is tight-fitting, especially around the joints. Clothes should also stand out from the surrounding environment. Fitted athletic or fitness wear is recommended.

You can use Kinetisense outside as long as you are not working in damp weather or direct sunlight.

Yes! On the website, under videos in Learn section you will find various instructional videos on how to best navigate your way through the system.
